We have rebuilt our Digital Productivity website for NHS automation buyers.
Our Digital Productivity work now an expanded section on our website, built around the questions NHS digital, finance and operational leads ask before they commit to automation.
The Digital Productivity Platform (DPP) is a cloud-based automation platform for NHS organisations. You pay a per-minute rate for the automation you use, can draw on more than 100 tried and tested clinical and corporate automations, and get clinical safety and managed support from the same NHS-hosted team.
NHS England’s 2025/26 planning guidance asked trusts for a 4% productivity improvement, and Lord Darzi’s 2024 investigation found hospital productivity at least 11.4% lower than in 2019. The House of Commons Library notes that routine administrative processing is more amenable to automation and carries lower clinical risk. That is where the DPP works.

Clearing an EPR migration backlog in 35 days
Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust’s move from RiO to Epic left 45,143 records needing data quality work against a tight deadline. Four DPP digital workers ran 20 hours a day, seven days a week, and completed the full workload in 35 days. Manual processing would have taken an estimated 878 days.
The process cost £16,000 to develop and test and returned a £56,000 net saving for this single project. The system exception rate was 2.5%, and 3,284 hours of staff time were released for higher value work.
Steven Thorndyke, Director of IT at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, said ‘This work is a strong example of how partnership working, robust governance and intelligent automation helped support our RiO to Epic migration programme, delivering significant efficiency benefits whilst maintaining data quality and safety.’

Referral automation with clinical safety built in
Since go-live in April 2024, our chronic kidney disease referral automation has processed 4,289 referrals end to end, to March 2026. At 30 minutes saved per referral, that returned 2,144 hours, or 286 working days, to the North Central London CKD team. DCB0160 clinical safety compliance and a Data Protection Impact Assessment were completed before go-live.

Reliability and assurance
Automations are built to keep running where they safely can. When they cannot, each issue is recorded and reported for review. For one managed RPA client, 31 process automations achieve completion rates of 80% or better, and 24 of them run at 90% or better, with system exceptions at 2.3%.
The platform is ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certified, and NHS organisations can buy it through the Digital Productivity Platform listing on G-Cloud 15.
James Davies, Head of Digital Productivity, said: ‘Our ethos is build it once and scale. Why should organisations have to pay for the same things to be built over and over again? That has to apply to the technology, the Information Governance, and the clinical safety too.’
