Establishing the NHS’s first Net Zero Travel and Transport team and supporting the world’s first zero-emission ambulance

We worked with NHS England to establish its first Net Zero Travel and Transport team. We recruited and onboarded the team and established ways of working that supported innovation and collaboration between organisations and sectors working towards net zero transport.
The impact of our work
We developed the team’s first programme plan and led the programme that resulted in real-world testing and the unveiling of the world’s first zero-emission ambulance at COP26.
We also established an integrated governance structure, drafted specifications for net zero ambulances and their operating requirements, developed feasibility and innovation competitions, and submitted a five-year spending review bid to support the NHS fleet’s transition to net zero.
