We have updated our on-line interactive dashboard to include 2021 cancer waiting times data. Analysis is provided at London, STP, Cancer Alliance and tumour level. Over the past ten years the number of patients seen as suspected cancer has increased each year, except during 2020 due to pandemic.
Between 2012 and 2019 the number of patients seen for suspected cancer increased each year but the rate of increase decreased from 17% between 2017 and 2018 to 12% between 2018 and 2019. There was a decrease of 17% between 2019 and 2020 followed by an increase in referrals of 26% between 2020 and 2021.
Index of cancer survival for CCGs and STPs in London** interactive dashboard with 2004 – 2019 data
We have created an on-line interactive dashboard to enable users to interrogate the NHS Digital produced Index of cancer survival for CCGs and STPs.
Key points to note:
- The one-year all-cancer survival index increased steadily for all Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) throughout the period; for patients diagnosed in 2019, the all-cancer survival index for CCGs ranged from 74.1% to 77.5%, compared with 58.9% to 65.6% in 2004.
- The inequality gap in the cancer survival index between the highest and lowest CCG in London has shrunk since 2004.
- The one-year all-cancer survival index increased steadily for all Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs); for patients diagnosed in 2019, the all-cancer survival index for STPs ranged from 74.1% to 77.5%, compared with 58.9% to 65.6% based on data for 2004.
- The inequality gap between the highest and lowest STP in London has also reduced since 2004.
