Good Thinking has shared a helpful list of apps available for children and young people under the age of 18. See their page here and find other suggestions below.

NHS Go

NHS Go is an app that provides confidential advice and information to children and young people up to 25 years of age, using NHS Choices content on conditions, rolling content on topical matter, a service finder and information about their rights.

The app was developed in conjunction with young people.

It is not exclusively a mental health resource but the pages most visited are those on mental health and sexual health.

As at September 2018, it has had:

  • Over 89,000 downloads
  • Over 1,300,00 screen views
  • Over 157,000 page views

Be Mindful

Be Mindful is an online course for reducing stress, depression and anxiety. It guides you through the elements of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT).

Chat Health

ChatHealth is a secure and confidential text messaging service for young people. It allows patients to easily and anonymously get in touch with a healthcare professional for advice and support.

Cove

Create music to capture your mood and express how you feel with the Cove app. Instead of words, create music to reflect emotions like joy, sadness, calm and anger. You can store your music in a personal journal, or send them to someone and let the music do the talking.

Health Help Now

Feeling unwell? Not sure where to go to get the help you need? Health Help Now will help you find the right treatment for your health needs whatever the time, wherever you are.
