We offer high-quality, bespoke programme management services across health and care, with a team of skilled and experienced consultants able to deploy traditional ‘waterfall’ methodologies and Agile frameworks. Both methodologies and frameworks can be used flexibly throughout the programme lifecycle, allowing us to adapt our approach while ensuring delivery remains focused on your overall benefits and aims.
 
Our consultants develop a deep understanding of clients’ needs and context. We form trusted relationships and support clients to leverage cross-project synergies, optimise delivery, and drive innovation, providing assurance of high-quality delivery. We run Before Action Reviews to anticipate challenges and solutions for key project components, and regular After Action Reviews to identify improvements for subsequent phases.

Programme management office set-up, support and evaluation

TPHC brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in supporting public sector organisations to establish, manage, and effectively communicate progress on complex projects and programmes. We offer a comprehensive, tried-and-tested approach to designing and implementing Project Management Office (PMO) and its core functions, with a particular focus on the health and care sector. We guide our clients to track programme progress with clarity and confidence and ensure that your investments generate the desired benefits for your organisation, end users, and wider populations.

We specialise in PMO design, development and implementation, offering end-to-end support in areas such as governance, programme planning, resource management and risk and issue management. Well-versed in a variety of methodologies and project management tools, we also provide a suite of standardised templates and documentation in digital formats, including Gantt charts, Kanban boards, highlight reports, and risk and issue logs. Our extensive library of tools can be tailored to suit the size, scope, and scale of any programme.

We also offer an evaluation of your organisation’s maturity by assessing current functions against best practice and recommending the changes most appropriate to your needs and budget.

Mobilising new programmes

TPHC is expert in mobilising new initiatives and programmes of work, creating the foundations required for a programme’s successful delivery.  We understand the key to programme delivery often starts with its set-up and engagement of stakeholders, the governance, and its ability to set direction, communicate progress and mitigate risks and issues.

Our approach to mobilising programmes in health and care also involves the co-development of robust and achievable plans which are often multi-year and complex, working alongside stakeholders, including the end-users; patient, clinical, community and public, who will ultimately benefit from the programme’s outcomes, and assess if a programme has achieved its aims.

Working closely with our clients, we:

  • set up project governance, reporting structures and PMO tools, including a governance map, risks register and stakeholder mapping). We engage stakeholders, map existing data, and run workshops to define priorities and start building the case for change. Outputs include stakeholder engagement plans, workshop results, and emerging priorities
  • co-develop a compelling case for change by developing the logic model, establishing objectives and setting benefits, success criteria and timelines. We refine governance structures and finalise management controls. plan and prepare for programme implementation with the completed governance framework, business case, agreed next steps and programme controls, including the finalised programme plan, escalation frameworks, budget, and reporting systems.

Trusted training

We provide bespoke PPM training to meet our clients’ requirements, passing on our knowledge so that clients can build their internal PPM capability.

We can deliver versions of our established courses – including introductory courses to PPM, Agile and PMO development – or work with you to customise training to suit your needs.
