Transformation Partners in Health and Care > News and views > Celebrating the release of the Listening Project Report

On 19 February, the Mental Health team at Transformation Partners in Health and Care worked with Partnership for Young London and the Listening Project partners Black Thrive Lambeth; HFEH Mind; Taraki; and Thrive LDN to host a youth engagement event, celebrating the release of the Listening Project report.

About the Listening Project

The Listening Project centred around the voices of young Londoners aged 12 to 25 who identify as Asian, Black, or Latin American, to gain insight into their views about mental health and the services that are available to them.

Launching the report

Over 30 young people aged 16-25 from across London attended the event to learn about the findings of the project and feedback on its recommendations. Also inputting on how it can be communicated and shared across the health and care system.

The event aimed for young people to:

  • Understand how the Listening Project was conducted in partnership with young people
  • Provide their reflections on the key findings of the report, including what resonates with their experience and what’s missing
  • Provide input on how the report should be communicated within the system, including which messages are most important
  • Self-identify if they want to be involved in ongoing efforts to disseminate the report.

Reflecting on the event, the TPHC Mental Health Transformation team shared:

The Listening Project centred the voices of young Londoners from racialised communities. We sought to bring a group of young people together to review the recommendations and findings from the report and help us to shape how we share the report with different community stakeholders.

We want to thank the young people for sharing their ideas, thoughts and experiences and helping us to shape the next steps for this important piece of work.
