Empowering children and young people to know their healthcare rights
Children and Young People consistently tell us they don’t know what their rights relating to healthcare are.
We want this to change and we need your help!
It is absolutely crucial that children and young people know their rights in healthcare.
How can we empower children and young people to learn about their healthcare rights?
Between December 2023-February 2024 the NHS in London and our partners ran a creative arts competition to help improve awareness of healthcare rights among children and young people. We want to provide age-appropriate healthcare information, including practical ways to involve children and young people in healthcare decisions and promoting open and respectful communication between healthcare providers and young patients.
Through this competition, we hope to inspire and empower children and young people to share what they learn about their healthcare rights, and to know that healthcare professionals are here to listen to them and take their views on board when planning their healthcare.
Track the competition and share your entries on social media using the hashtag: #CYPHealthRights
Children and young people’s healthcare rights creative arts competition
Between December 2023-January 2024, the NHS in London and our partners are inviting children and young people to enter a creative arts competition. We want you to share your creations so you can express your views and help us learn what matters most to you.
Entrants could submit anything creative (that can be shared digitally) such as a cartoon, illustration, a copy of a painting or drawing, a poem, photography, or a short video (this might be a film, a recording of a song, or spoken word).
